Some people claim that a contract is established when the soul enters the body, along with an intuitive awareness of the experiences that the soul will have while being expressed through that particular vehicle. Given enough thought and time we can find good in anything. But this is not the point of the quality of life that one maintains while on this dimension. Some take this thought to mean that we choose to become infirmed, to be in a coma, be paralyzed or linger in a nursing home. This type of thought process is errorous at best. It totally negates the basic design of human expression - this is simply perfection in deed and action. Through Divine Mind we are created in divine spirit, manifested into human form by divine action and expressed through divine consciousness.
Many claim that the soul decides its path and lives a predetermined reality. Many believe these experiences are chosen by the entity or spirit as a learning process to find out about the characteristics and experiences which come with that particular situation. This is again a matter of personal awareness and intuition. Simply put, it is through malfeasance that a soul manifests maladies which cause the body to deteriorate. If this process is not caught and realigned, the damage to the vehicle may be irreparable.
Hence with hindsight it becomes apparent that if we had taken more care we might have been able to circumvent adverse reality. Illness and long term suffering is not the result of free will in that the soul consciously decided to go that route but because the soul did not make the correct decisions it should have made along the way. In other words, it is often the result of not listening to one's "inner voice" trying to lead the soul on its proper path. Most souls would not specifically choose to suffer the indignities related to many physical infirmities. In Divine Mind there is no lie, no error and no false statement, there is only universal perfection.
Having to experience a reality of falseness can only be arrived at by a series of life long choices and decisions where there are no deviations for human lessons. The gift of free will is exactly that and with that comes the consequences and lessons which are a result of those choices. This is why self awareness and inner intuitive recognition are of great importance. When aligned with universal awareness and perfection, the only reality can be that of harmony.
Souls search for compatible energies and often choose the host body because of that compatibility. In other words, the body and soul come together because of energy compatibilities and not necessarily due to a contract. The idea of a contract would tend to negate the possibility of an individual having free will.
When the body is injured beyond immediate repair or damaged it may stop functioning. The life force and spirit energy just vacate the vehicle. This also may happen when everything is aligned, all the lessons and teaching done, and the spirit energy has determined that it is time to leave.
Then again, during a coma the body goes into stasis. During this period energies are being realigned so a spirit or walk-in can be properly manifested. Often during the coma there is a phasic period where the soul energy lingers on and dimensionalizes, trying to determine its desired reality. This is why during a coma period it is important to have verbal contact and touch contact with the body. During the phasic energy cycles, the spirit energy oftentimes can hear and feel expressions directed at it on this dimension. As long as the body itself has not been damaged beyond repair, some soul will often inhabit it again. That is why it is important to continue to treat the body or vehicle with respect and to fix any damage as soon as possible before it deteriorates to the point where even if the soul wants to make a change the body is in such disrepair that it can no longer sustain life as we recognize it on this dimension.
Life is constant, it is energy, and energy is infinite. The expression may change, as does the frequency of energy, but the essence of what was always is.
